Dubble Bubble

How cute is this theme for twin's first birthday?! I just love it! The Mother's inspiration was a piece of Dubble Bubble Gum and just ask that I use the same colors. So, after coming up with a few ideas, I couldn't stop thinking how fun it would be to have a giant cake replica of the little piece of gum. Everything is icing except for the two fondant, blue wrapper "twists" on either side. To make it a little more personal, I changed the wording to "Heaton's Original", which is the girl's last name,... and added a pink birthday banner at the bottom. Now for more fun, I made individual cakes for the girls in coordinating colors. The sides are iced with strips, while fondant gumballs and a number "1" adorn the tops of each. Double the fun! Happy Birthday Ally and Kenzy!

    1. Can't remember if it was an 11"x13" or a 12"x18". I stacked 2 layers, and then started carving with a knife to get the correct shape. Have fun creating yours!
