For some unknown reason, my son decided that a fishing cake wasn't enough for his birthday,... he had to have a basketball cake as well. Even told his dentist last week that he was getting two cakes for his birthday. As you can see, I wasn't able to curtail his expectations. Hence, here is the baseketball cake. Started with a stack of three 6" round cake layers, and just carved away with a knife to get the ball shape. Iced in frosting with a "basketball" look to it's texture, and some black rolled fondant for lines. I love how it turned out! Happy Birthday Carson,.... again. : )
