Princess Castle

An enchanting castle for a little princess turning 3. This one was quite the challenge to take the vision in my head and turn it into cake, so I'm just thrilled with how it came out! Makes me want to be a princess for a day,... or longer. : ) Hand sculpted fondant turrets, name tag, woodgrain door, bushes, and cobblestone walkway. To bring in the color of Dora's dress, I added ivy growing up the castle with purple and yellow flowers. Silver fondant flags are a nice finishing touch. Happy Birthday Princess Avery!

Oink, OINK!

That little piggy went to the market,... but this little piggy went to DELL. A fun cake I did for my husband's Treasury department. My son came up the with the idea of a piggy bank,... PERFECT! Fondant ears, eyes, snout, feet, and of course the ever so adorable curly tail. Chocolate coins finished it off. Have to say I was kind of sad sending this little piggy to the slaughter, but hopefully he was enjoyed. Oink, oink!

Eagle Scout Award

Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly,... Everything an Eagle Scout stands for is on this cake, including a fondant replica of the award he received. The medal is all fondant, hand sculpted and painted with edible silver dust. I put indentions in the ribbon to give it a grossgrain look. Now, time to play a game,... I spy something different on the last two pictures. Keep looking,... keep looking,... Yep, you got it! It's the silver fondant rope hanging from the ribbon. Now it's complete!

Butterfly Cupcakes

I love butterflies and was excited to use them as inspiration for these cupcakes. Each butterfly is handmade out of fondant with individually placed silver dragees, and then lightly brushed with shiny luster dust to really make them stand out. The butterflies sit atop their own flower made of icing. Lastly, I sprinkled a little edible sparkle to give the illusion of sun reflecting off dew on the petals. These were made for a cute little girls special day. Happy Birthday!

Wolf Mountain

I don't know who was more excited about this cake, me or cute little Caitlyn! She loves wolves and can't wait for the new movie, Alpha and Omega, to be released in Septemeber. I took my inspiration from the trailers online. The trees are handmade from fondant, along with the moon and wolf "Katie" from the movie. The other members of the pack are plastic figures. I added chocolate candy rocks around the waterfall to finish off the look. Being over 7 single layers high, this cake surely makes a statement,.... Happy Birthday Caitlyn!

Star Wars

"May the cake be with you",... ummm I mean, "force". Or in this case, BOTH! I love the star shape, and how it really accents the three movie characters. Darth Vader, storm trooper and R2-D2 are hand cut out of fondant with royal icing details. The light sabers are rolled from fondant to give them a 3-D look. What better Star Wars phrase to complete this cake than, "May the force be with you."? And just for the birthday boy, a mini star cake. Happy Birthday Hayden!

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

This little birthday boy loves all things transportation. Decorated to match the colors of the party, the tiers were covered in icing with hand shaped fondant train, cars, and airplanes. I just love how the "topper" turned out when all the pieces came together. Happy Birthday Quinn!

Independence Day: Choco-Lota

Red, white and ... brown? I know, I know... where's the white? Answer: Went to EVERY store, and no one sold the bags of patriotic M&M's this year. So, I bought the regular bag and seperated the colors, and added the brown to give it some more chocolate... well, because it is a Choco-Lota!
