Twilight fans,... all four book covers rolled into one cake! Loved making this one! The birthday girl requested different chess pieces for her liking, but wanted everything else to go along with the Twilight theme. With several "firsts" for me, each piece presented it's own challenge, but so rewarding to see the final product. The cake is covered in a delicious white icing with black icing scrolls on the top layer and black fondant squares on the bottom. The apple, flower, chess pieces, ribbon, and "Happy Birthday" sign are all hand sculpted out of fondant, no molds were used. My favorite part of this cake is the Knight chess piece. Not because it's the most eye catching, but because it was the most challenging. The birthday girl is a horse lover,... and now I am too.
Wow! That is unbelievably impressive! I love it! I'm sure the birthday girl did too!
