Classy and sophisticated,... the perfect Bridal Shower cupcake. Half were topped with individually placed silver dragees, while the other half were adorned with one single, pink fondant flower. What really made these special, were the black lace wrappers the Mother of the bride provided. I just LOVE them!

Lace and Flowers

Girly Skull and Cross Bones
I received a fun request for a Baby Shower cake,... Skull and Bones, but make it girly. After studying the invitation, here's what I came up with. The topper is made of fondant, and mimics the invitation design. I gave the fondant banner a little depth with a "wavy" motion. After all the stripes and polka dots were iced on, it seemed to be missing something. What to do with the top tier? Then it hit me,... hearts! Now it's complete!
Diego's Panda Adventure
How do you incorporate the birthday boy's two loves in one cake?... Make it a Diego Panda Adventure! Diego and his friends are plastic toy figures, while all the panda's and bamboo are are hand sculpted from fondant. Although those guys are just 2 colors, it took a lot to get the details just right. I researched panda paw prints to make sure I had both thier little fondant paws, and the icing prints on the cake as acurate as possible. Did you know their tails are white and not black,.... like most little stuffed panda bears? Either did I until now!
My favorite detail of this cake is the number 3 made from fondant bamboo shoots. The colors and whimsical style of this cake really brought this adventure to life. Happy Birthday Connor!
Mickey Mouse Hat
I'm all ears! Check out these cute fondant Mickey hats. Each are hand sculpted from fondant with the birthday boy's age in royal icing. His own individual cake included a large fondant hat with his age on one side, and his name on the other. The bright colors and polka dots were the perfect combination for this festive party. Happy birthday Campbell!
